  1. I think that a object millions of miles away that can still mess with us is interesting.

  2. Could cost the whole world 2,000bn dollars. A solar storm starts with an eruption of super hot gas.

  3. the connections around the would could be shut down for a little while or it could be shut down forever

  4. The solar weather from the sun is getting worse and the thing that was weird to me was when they said that the sun could send out a solar flare or storm that could cause a global katrina causing the world 2,000 bn dollars and it was inertesting that the sun is getting worse and how active it is getting.

  5. 1. It causes a radio communication problem. Some thing interesting is that every 11 years there are storm cycles on the earth.

  6. it would case 2000 bn $ in destruction. what i found was kinds interesting it could whip out all the worlds comunication.

  7. Solar Flares can shut down our technology if they aree strong enough. Last weeks solar flare might have been the biggest one sense 2007.

  8. Too much technology, and i didnt know there was space weather.

  9. I learned that the last time the sun did this was in 2007, and something i found interesting was how this could be called the "global katrina". Wasn't hurricane katrina really bad?

  10. If the Solar Maximum was like it was in 1859, it would take out global communication, information, and electricity distribution.

The most interesting thing I found out was that a giant magnetic fluxuation blacked out all of Quebec in 1989.

  11. It caused radio communication problems, and small disruption on civil aviation as for airlines. A stronger storm can shut down communications satellites for hours. It's an 11 year cycle.

  12. Northern lights pass the earth when the sun flares. We see colors that are called northern lights. This reminded scientists that the solar maximum is coming.

  13. An extreme solar storm could shut down the communications between satellites for many hours or possibly cause them to take permanent damage.

    ReplyDelete
  14. It could tear down communications. The way the sun stuff rotated in a circle because of gravity.

  15. sent out strongest flare in 4 years. could cause the cell phones to not work anymore.

    ReplyDelete
  16. One effect it could cause is it could cause radio communication problems.

One interesting fact is that the electronically charged particles don't reach the Earth's atmosphere until 20 - 30 hours later.

    ReplyDelete
  17. The big solar storm could cost the global economy over 2,000 billion dollars.

  18. An effect that Solar Weather could cause would be that it can shut down communications satellites for many hours and maybe even cause permanet damage. One thing that I found interesting is that in 1989, whole of Quebec was blacked out due to induce surges in power lines.

  19. It could mess up communication satellites.

  20. Solar Weather could cause a number of things, but one thing is that it can effect electronics, such as radio signals, phone signals and stuff like that. They think that the earth should prepare for a electromagnetic storm thats coming and could possibly cost our economy $2,000bn.

  21. It can cause radio communication problems, also it could shutdown communication salilites for a couple hours

I found it interesting that a solor storm starts with an eruption of super hot gas that travles at about 5 miles an hour

  22. Solar weather may end up causing things to happen like radio communications and also communication satelites. They end up shutting down airlines and other activities in the air. The eruption at the start of a solar storm travels out from the sun at speeds up to 5m miles an hour.

  23. It can effect electronics like cell phones. It can also effect power lines. It can cause radio communications too. A solar storm starts with an eruption of super-hot gas.

  24. Solar Weather can shut down satelites or technology on the ground and can even mess with power lines. The biggest storm was in 1859 and it interfeared with the telegraph.

    ReplyDelete
  25. One effect that the Solar weather could cause is that it could knock out the electricity and it would cost about 2000bn. Something I found interesting is that this whole thing ties in with our cell phones and it could mess up our cell phones and they may not work if something does happen.

  26. this is a very serious thing that people should not ignore. The Solar "Katrina" could knock out some very important communication devices like power lines and radio towers. It could potentionally cost the us 2,000 billion dollars

  27. 1. One effect that a Solar Weather Strom could cause is it can shut down communication satellites for many hours and also cost the economy $2,000bn.

    2. I found it intereting that the eruption of super hot gas can travel up to 5 million miles per hour!

  28. The Solar Weather could deactivate electronics such as radio signals, phones or satellites for a short period of time or permanently.

  29. It can cause radio communications. One thing that i found intristing is that a more powerful storm can shut down communication satilites.

  30. That this "thing" will cost the world alot of money. It will loss all the information that the world will have

  31. electrically charged particales hit the earth's atmosphere after a solar storm occurs on the sun's surface.
the biggest solar storm on record occured back in 1859. If a storm just as powerful occured today it would cost the goverment 2,000 bn.

  32. It could take out radios. I found it intresting that the rays would leave the sun at about 5m miles per hour, and it would still take the rays 20 to 30 hours to hit Earth. That is a long ways away...

  33. It can cause some radio communications and if they are very extreme storms they can shut dowm communications satellites for a long time...or even permanent damage. Something that I found interesting was that is the cycle happens ever 11 years. It should have been in 2012 but it came late so it should happen in 2013, very soon.

  34. i think it's cool that the part that shoots off goes right back

    ReplyDelete
  35. I think it is interesting how the thing can shoot off of the sun but come right back because of the gravity.

  36. It was the largest soloar storm since 2007.

    ReplyDelete
  37. it could cut out communications satellites. They are awhere of the space storms t hat might interact with the flight there.

    ReplyDelete
  38. It caused some radio communication problems.

The most interesting fact that I found was that when solar explosions happen, the hot material from the sun leaves at about 5 mph.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The Flare could mess with our electronics and knock them out. That the gas from the sun can travel so far to this Planet

    ReplyDelete
  40. caused some radio communication problems and minor disuption of civil avaition as airlines routed flights away from the polar regions

    ReplyDelete
  41. last week was the strongest flare for four years

super hot gas travelling out from the sun

  42. If it is strong enough then it could damage our statelite connection.

  44. Electrically charge particles can hit Earth's atmosphere 20 to 30 hours later. It can cause electromagnetic havic. What I found interesting is the Sun actually acts up that bad. I thought it has been doing stuff like that ever since.

  45. If the flares where to damage the earths atmosphere it would reach unberable teperatures and some people would probably die.

    ReplyDelete
  46. It could cause the gov. to spend in damage 2,000bn.

That it only happens every 11 years.

    ReplyDelete
  47. interesting: last week it sent the strongest flare than it has in 4 years!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

    cause: electromagnetic havoc

  48. deadly sun rays could destroy the internet, phones, and any thing in the sky
