An activity we did this year that I understood the most was when we did a lab over how warm water was less dense then cold water. or in otherwords cold is more dense then hot.
*Step one; State the problem (Is cold denser than warm, or is warm denser than cold )
*Step two; Make a hypothisis (Warm is less dense then cold)
*Step three; Find materials to preform a "lab" to proove your hypothesis right or wrong. (Materials: 2 glasses, warm water, cold water, blue and red food coloring, water measurer, a rectagle container with a firm divider dividing the two. )
*Step four; Preform the lab, (Poor the cold water in one side of the container and poor the warm water in the others side then remove the divider.
*Step five; Observe (The warm water was floating ontop of the cold water.)
*Step six; Make conclutions using the information you observed and find the answer to your question. (Warm water was less dense than the cold water because whe you removed the divider between the two they went together but instead of the cold and the warm mixing they separated due to the differant densities.)
