GPS Contest 2013

That was pretty fun wasn't it? I enjoyed watching each team in action on Friday. The weather was awesome. So many of the groups did very well, and every one of the film canisters was found...... eventually. I commend all the teams for their hard work. Here are the results from the 2013 GPS Contest: GPS Final Standings 2013
Period 3: The Super Trendy Diapers narrowly edged out the Oreos to claim victory.
Period 4: Great People got the top spot, followed by the Jolly Space Ranchers.
Period 6: The Steampunks ran away with the contest, beating TMEK by 6 points.
Period 8: MAKS was victorious, but MG wasn't too far behind. Both teams had impressive point totals.

Feel free to leave comments that you have about the GPS contest. How was your experience? Were there any waypoints that you just couldn't seem to find? What was the best strategy? If you had to do the contest again, what would you change?

well nobody in my group would let me see the Gps and they would get us lost because they did not know how to us it. but other wise it was fun a little muddy but i loved it and would love to do it again. I could not find blue. I would have more GPS's.

It was fun but at first another group fallowed us and watched us until we finally got away. Then I found a stick which was fun. And then we won.

My team did good in the competition. We were the first to find minerals. We couldn't seem to find the kilowatts. the best strategy was to run and when you get close look closely around your surroundings.

My team and I really didn't do too great. We were the first to find the one in the long jump sand pit but that was the only one that we found first. Some just felt like they weren't there. The best strategy was to get to the spot on the gps and scour the area.

it was fun. If i had to change something it would be nothing. i think the best stragtegy was to go for the farest one there was so we can get more points. we took alot of time moving to places.

It was fun! We found everything pretty easily actually. It was fun because you were working together with your friends. Our strategy was to go to the closest ones and hope to find things. We also tried to stay relaxed by not running which helped us have fun and do good. I wouldn't have changed anything if I did it agian.

the gps contest was really fun even though we did bad. the way points we couldnt find were by the dumpsters.
I think the best stratagy was to find the waypoints first. iif we did it again, i would go faster and try to find the waypoint first.

I thought the GPS thing was fun. We got to go outside and look for things with our friends. It ws fun so I don't think that you need to change anything.

It was very fun, but kind of hard. My group split the responsibilties up so I think it worked well. The other team did beat up though, but we were still the best:)
