1. The can of regular Coca-Cola(R) Will sink. The can of Diet Coke(R) Will float because the sugar substitute makes the mixture less dense than water. The can of Coca-Cola(R) has real sugar which makes the mixture more dense than water.
2. Some objects float and sink because of the density of the thing you want to float and the substanse you want it to float in. If the thing is less dense it will float but if it is of equal or more density will sink
cont.
3. Mass. The volume is the same.
1. I think that Diet Coke will float and the regular Coke will sink.
2. Because I am pretty sure that Coke has a density greater than that of water.Diet has a density less than that of water.
3. Mass, because the cans they are in have the same capcity of 8 fluid ounces.
4. Because Coke has more sugar in it.
1.the coke will float and diet coke will to.
2.they float because it has air.they sink to if you have to much volume. And less dense
3.The diet has less density then coke
4.coke has more sugar then diet coke becsuse diet has no calories
1a. I predict that the can of coke will sink
1b. i predict the can of diet coke will sink also
2. some objects float and sink because of the objects density, and the density of what ever the object is dropped in (ex. water, oil, gasoline, seawater)
3. the reason the two cans had different results to the experiment was because they had different densities. i believe this was caused by the mass of the liqued. there is more acid and other chemicals in coke compared to diet coke. so that is why diet coke floated. my prediction was wrong. the diet coke floated while i said it would sink
4. i think it was because of the chemials and acids in coke. there isn't as much acid and chemicals in diet coke.
1. i predict that the coke will sink and the diet coke will float
2.I think the diet coke floated because it was less dense than the water it was in. the coke was more dense than the water, hense it sank.
3. the mass because the volume would be the same because the can is the same shape.
4. the mass would be different because the diet coke doesnt have some of the ingrediences that the regular coke has.

1. I think that the Coke will sink, but the Diet Coke will float.
2. If an object is less dense then water (or whatever liquid it is in), then it will float..but if the object is denser then the water (or whatever it's in), then it will sink.
3. The mass changed the density, not the volume because both of the cans are the same size and shape so they have the same volume.
4. Because Diet Coke has certain things taken out of it to make it healthier, it has less components to it, so it weighs less
1. I think that the diet coke will float and that the coke will sink
2. That the coke is lighter and that the diet coke is heavier
3. That the coke has more denisty because is has more thing in it then the diet coke which has less things in it
4. The can of coke has more of a mass because they put more subtance in it then what they put in diet coke.
1. I THINK THAT DIET COKE WILL FLOAT AND COKE REG. WILL SINK.
2. its density and rate
3. because diet coke ways less cus it doesnt have cafine and its density or mass.
4. cus diet coke ways less than coke
1:i predict the diet coke will float the coke will sink.
2:it depends on the density of objects and what you put them in.
3:there were different masses between the two drinks.
4:the diet coke has more suger than than a can of regular coke.
1.i thiunk that coke will float and diet coke will sink.
2.some objects float because the mass of water is 1.o and if it is less than that then it will float but if it is more than that then it will sink
3.the mass in the diet coke is less because it is diet and doesnt have that much sugar than a regular coke.the other coke has more mass so it will sink.
4.the can of coke has more mass because of all the sugar and fat it has in it.and the diet coke has less sugar and less fat.
Miranda Famestad
1: I predict the can of the coke will float and the Diet Coke will sink.
2: The more density the can of pop has will mostly sink because water has density of 1, and if it has more then it will sink. and the less density the can will sink.
3: The amount of the mass, Because the coke has more mass then the Diet coke it sunk.
4: Because the amount of sugar in the can, and the Coke had more sugar than the Diet Coke.
1. i think they will both sink
2. some things sink and float because there more dense then the water there in.
3. mass x volume = density
the two cans have different densities because they have a different mass and volume.
4. they have different densities because they have different amounts of sugar in theem.
1. I predict that the can of coke, and the can of diet coke will float.
2. some objects float or sink because of they densities.
3. I would say that mass caused the two cans to have different densities, because i believe objects that weigh more, will sink, and objects that weigh less, will float.
4. Coke has more sugar which would make it heavier i believe, and diet coke doesnt have the same amount of ingredients like sugar and maybe that would affect whether it would float or sink?
1)I predict that the can of coke will sink. I predict that the can of diet coke will float.
2)I think some objects float and others sink because some have more density with there surroundings.
3)I think that the diet coke had more voulume and less mass. The coke might have had more mass and less volume.
4)A can of coke has more mass than a diet coke because I think some of the gas bubbles have been released so the diet coke had less sugar also.
1. I predict that the coke will sink.
2.And that the can of diet coke will float.
Because the objects have diffirent dencities which will make them flost or sink.
All of the stuff that they put in the pop makes one heve a different dincity
What they are made of like the sugar in coke is made of more
1- i predict that the can of coke will sink in an aquarium filled with water. I also think that the diet coke with sink in the aquarium.
2-some objects float and others sink because of its density.
3- the mass caused the cans to have different densities because the cans have the same amount of pop just different types.
4- the coke have more sugar then the diet coke?
1:I predict that coke will sink and diet coke will float.
2:The objects are either more dense (which they sink) or they are less dense (which they float).
3:Mass because they have the same volume and they have different ingredients than eachother and that makes them have a different mass.
4:Coke has a bunch of suger and Diet Coke has none.
1. I predict that the coke will float. I predict that the Diet coke will sink.
2. Well some sink and float because of their density. And becasue of what each object is made of also.
3. Well the coke has more sugar than the diet coke. The Diet coke isn't as dense as the regular coke. And I know because I have drank both of those pops and I read the lables. The coke feels heavier anyways! (:
4. Well it all depends on the amount of sugar. And how much the molecules are backed together.
#1. I think the coke will sink and diet will float.
#2. They are less dense than water.
#3. Mass. The mass was less dense than the water so it floats or sinks in water but if we tried somethhing besides water and something with more mass both would have sunk.
#4. Dosn't Diet Coke have more sugar so in which made it float whill coke gas a different sugar of sweatners.
1-i predict that the coke will sink and the can of diet coke will float.
2-depending on if the will float or not will all depend on how dense the water is and how dense the object,if the water is more dense the object will float but if the object is more dense then the object will sink.
3-thier volume will depend on thier diferent densities because the cans are the same size and so it would depend on the volume.
4-the can of coke has more sugar therefore the diet coke has a less density, the diet is supposed to be sugar free.
5-this is cool i like the fact of doing labs and bloging on the science blog....keep up the good work Mr.Hoegh!!!i love this class!!!
1. I predict both cans of Cokes will float.
2. If an object has more density than water, it will sink. If an object has less density, it will float.
3. Volume, because the Diet Coke takes up less space in the water than the regular Coke.
4. They are made of aluminum, but regular Coke has different ingredients than Diet Coke, therefore making it have more mass.
1. I predict that the can of Coke will sink, while the can of Diet Coke will float.
2. Objects float if there density is less than the substance around them(water in this case). They sink, because they are more dense than the water.
3. The two cans of pop both have the same volume(or amount of space it takes up) so this factor does not change the result. But the mass(amount of matter in an object) is different, because the diet coke has less "stuff" in it(DIET), compared to the regular coke, which has the "stuff" in it.
4. The regulare can of Coke has more sugars in it and the Diet Coke does not have any at all.
Christian Albertson is amazing!!!!!!!!:D
cont. again (sorry)
4. As I said before, the sugar substitute makes the Diet Coke(R) less dense. The Coca-Cola(R) uses real sugar making the mixture more dense.
1) I think that the Coke will sink faster than the Diet Coke, but I think that in the end they will both sink
-Sarah Q
1. I predict that the can of Coke will sink, while the Diet Coke floats.
2. The reason some things float and some things don't is because of their density. If they float, their density is less then the water, less than 1g/mL, and if it sinks its more than 1g/mL.
1. i think it will sink and the diet coke will float.
2.because i think the coke has more density then the water. but the diet coke has something in it so it with float because it has less density then the water.
3. the diet coke floated and the coke did not. this happened because,
2)Objects sink because their density is greater than the water's density (1), and objects will float if their density is less than water's density.
-Sarah Q
1) the coke will sink but the diet coke will float, because the artificial sweetener is less dense than water, and sugar is not
Drew M.
2)if the object is less dense than water, it will float
1. I predict that the Coke will sink in the aquarium because it contains materials that are more dense than water. However, I believe that the Diet Coke will float because I think that the artificial sugar in Diet Coke is lighter than the regular sugar found in regular Coke.
2. An objects boyancy is dependent upon the density of the object. An object with a density of less than one will float in water. An object with a density greater than one will sink.
3)the mass causes it to have different densities, because the artificial sweetener is less dense than the water
1. I think both will float
2.Some objects are more dense than others
3. A different mass, because there are different minerals. And the Volume might be different because the diet may have more carbonate air in there than the normal coke which would make it float.
4.Different minerals because one is diet/nondiet and maybe more of something else in another like chemicals.
1. i think that the diet coke will float because it has less sugar which means it has less density. and i think the coke will sink because the pop is denser with more sugar.
2. i think objects float and sink because of their density. one with a lighter denisty will float, and one with the greater density will sink.
3. the diet coke has less sugar in it which makes it not as dense as the coke. so if the density is the density is lighter than the coke, the diet coke will float.
4. coke has more sugar than diet coke and makes it denser.
Sara E.
1. I think the can of coke will sink and the can of diet coke will float because diet coke is less dense than coke because there is less sugar/calories in the diet coke.
2.some objects float because they are less dense than other objects.
3. the volume of the cans are the same because the cans are the same size but the mass must be different because of the ingredents that are put into the diet coke.
4.coke would have more mass because it has caffine in it and diet coke does not puls it does not have sugar.
2)if the object is less dense than water, it will float
Drew M.
1. i predict the can of coke will sink. i also believe that the diet coke can will sink.
2. things with a lesser density than water will float, while things with a heavier density will sink. the coke and diet coke has a heavier density than the water.
3. it was not the volume that changed the density because both the cans were the same size. it was the mass. the mass varies because one was a diet coke. i believe that is what made the difference.
4. the diet coke has a lighter mass because of the ingredients in it. these vary from the regular coke. i believe that the diet coke has more air in it. air has a lighter density than water. therefore, i think that the diet coke has a lighter density than the regular coke.
4) Diet Coke does not have as many sugars and heavier ingredients as Coke does.
-Sarah Q
Logan McKenzie
1) I Predict that the coke will float. I predict that the Diet Coke will not float.
2) Because of there density.
3) The mass because they are the same shape of can so it has to be on the inside.
4) Because the particles that make the coke 'diet' weigh more than the regular particles.
3. Because both cans have roughly the same volume, the experiment showed that the masses of the two cans of Coke are diferrent.
4.see question 1
1. I think that both of the cans will float because they are carbonated.
2. Some objects float because they have a lower density than the liquid they are in. Some things sink because they have a higher density than the liquid they are in.
3. I think the coke has a higher density than the diet coke because of mass because they are both the same size
4.It has more mass because it has more calories and stuff like that that makes it non-diet. And causes it to have more mass.
1.I think the Coke will sink and the Diet Coke will float
2.Because some things are lense dense than water then they float, and when they are more dense, they sink
3. I think the volumes are the same because the can is the same...but the mass is different because it's Diet
4.Because the ingredients to Coke are thicker because it's regular and has all the calories and all the bad stuff that Diet Coke doesn't have all the bad stuff. Diet Coke isn't good for you but its literally lense dense than regular coke
1. I predict that the can of regular coke will sink, but the diet coke with float.
2. The reason that some objects float and some objects sink is because of how dense an object is. If the object is more dense than the liquid it is in will sink, if it is less dense, it will float.
3.The volume is the same because it takes up the same amount of space, but their masses are different because one has less calories and less sugar.
4. The diet coke has less calories and less sugar then the regular coke and the regular has more sodium than the diet coke.
1. I predict both will float
2. Objects float and sink because of their densities if the object is more dense than the liquid it will sink. If its less dense than the liquid it will float.
3. coke had more mass than diet coke which caused it to sink and diet coke to float. i knew that because the less mass the more chance it will float.
4.i think coke has more sugar therefore it has more mass than diet coke .
1. I think that the can of Coke will sink to the bottom of the aquarium. I also think that the can of Diet Coke will sink to the bottom of the aquarium.
2. Objects sink and float depending on their density... if their density is less than the liquid, it will float, and if it is more dense, it will sink to the bottom.
3. The mass caused the cans to have different densities, because they both have the same volume, because they are the same size, so they must weigh different amounts.
4. I think that Diet Coke must have less sugars and ingredients, because it is lighter, and because it's "diet" coke, which is like, "less" than normal.
1. I predict that the can of coke will sink and that the can of diet coke will float.
2. I think that it depends on how much matter of an object is less dense than water. Like diet coke has more carbonation than regular coke and the carbonation is less dense than water, so it will float.
3. Their mass caused the different densities because diet coke has more carbonation, so a little bit different mass, so it floats.
4. Because it has more carbonation then reagular coke...Like I said BEFORE! Just kidding, but I really all ready did say twice before.
1. I predict that the coke will sink and the diet coke will float.
2. since aluminum is denser then water it will sink and cans are made out of aluminum, and the coke inside of the can is more dense then water, so they both will sink. but since the diet coke is diet it is less dense then water.
3. the volume is the same since bothe are in a can, but the mass is different because diet coke doesent have some of the same stuff as the reguliar does.
4. diet coke has no fat calories and fat has mass it will change the density of the two cokes.
1. i think the diet coke will float and the regular coke will sink
2. objects float when they are less dense then water and sink when they are more dense
3. Mass because they take up the same amount of space
4. the diet coke has something inside of it that is less dense then water and the coke has stuff more dense then water inside
1. i think that the original coke will sink since it may have more minerals than the diet coke since it uses substitute additives also it may be more carbonated than the coke so the diet coke i think will float
2.some objects float while some objects sink since the densities could be lighter causeing it to float instead of sink such as the hindenburg floating with hydrogen which is lighter than air
3. the two cans have different densities they may have the same volume but the density maybe different becuase of the amount of air in the object or in this case in my guess the amount of carbon
4.a can of coke may also have more mass if it has more minerals and less carbon while the diet coke uses subtitute thinks such as aspartame and other additives and also since diet cokes is diet it could be more carbon than pop
1. I predict that the coke will sink and the diet coke will float.
2. Some objects float by the density of the objects and they sink if the volume is high or low it will float.
3. The mass caused the densities. and the volume is the same.
4. The coke has more sugar than diet coke so it brings down the can because the is sooooo much sugar in a can of coke!
1. i predict that the can of coke will float, and the diet coak will sink
2.they have different things in the pop so they will have different densitys
3.the mass is is different than the othe because they have different things in them with different masses, the volume is the same in the cans
4.more surgar is in the coke than the diet coke so it has a greater mass
3) Mass, because the arificial sweetener is less dense than the water, causing it to float
Drew M.
3. sorry i pushed publish on accident. so ill comment again.
this happened because the mass was more than the other so that causes different densitys.
they have the same volume. and the diet coke had bubbles in it that might have caused it to float and take up less space.
4. becasue theres more sugar in itso theres more mass. snd diet has less because... its diet! they probably have cornsyrup and sugar and i dont reallly know what else
! well bye ttyl! love macey!
1. I predict that the can of Coke will sink. I predict that the can of Diet Coke will float.
2. Some objects will float because they are less dense than the substance they are in. If it is more dense, it will sink.
3. I think the Mass caused the different densities. Mass is weight and the heavier something is the more dense it is.
4. I think the can of Coke has more mass because of the ingrediants used to make them. Diet Coke has zero calories so they have to change the recipe of normal Coke. Diet Coke probably does not have as many ingrediants or has smaller amounts of ingrediants which makes it less dense.
4) because it has sugar instead of artificial sweetener
Drew M.
1. I predict that Coke float and Diet Coke will sink.
2. Some objects float because they are less dence then what ever they are floating in. Objects that sink means they or more dence then the liquid they are floating.
3. They both have the same volume so what ever caused the coke to sink had to do with the mass and what ever is in the Coke.
4.Maybe Coke has more sugar in it then the can of diet coke so then the Coke sunk and the diet coke floated.
3. I think that its a greater mass for the Coke can, and that is why it sunk, considering both have the same size/weight can and same volume.
4. I think the can of Coke would have more mass than the diet because there's like more sugar and sodium or something like that.... hahaha. but you get my point right? I mean, there's more carbonation or something in the diet coke.. there's more things in the composition for the regular coke. ha(: genious girl has left the buildingg(:
1) I think that both of the cans of Coke will sink.
2) If the object is more dense then the liquid then it will sink, and if the object is less dense then the it will float.
3) In the two cans the volume is the same, but but the diet Coke has less mass then the regular Coke.
4) Because of Diet Coke has diferent ingredients then regular Coke such as carbon.
3.For the coke it has more mass that means weight then the diet coke has and it was more volume in it as well maybe and if you take those to things and a divide them you get one with a higher density.
1. I predict that both of the cans of pop will float. They are probably more dense then the water but they will have air in them to make it rise up.
2. I think it all depends on the density, so mass and volume.
3. The can of coke may have more sugar in it for it to sink..
It's what's in side of the coke(s). (sugars and sweeteners)
1. Coke and Diet Coke will both sink
2. because if an object has a density greater than the substance it's in, it'll sink. if it has a density lower than the substance it's in it will float above the substance it's in.
3. the volume is the same, since they're both unopened, have the same size can, and the same amount of liquid in each can, so the difference has to be in the mass.
4. a regular coke has more sugar dissolved in it, thereby making it have more mass, and more dense than the diet coke, which has less sugar dissolved in it, making it less dense.
4. Because the coke has more surgar then the diet coke and the surgar weighes more than the water makeing it sink and the diet coke float.
1.Coke will sink and diet coke will float.
2.Some sink and some because of there density. if there density is grater than water it will sink, but if the density is less than water it will float.
i think that the diet coke will float and the coca cola will sink. i think that because the carbon dioxide levels. the carbon made them have there different densitys. carbon dioxide is less dense than water and there is more carbon dioxide in the diet coke so it floated.
1. both of the cans will float.
2. if the object is more dense than the water it will sink if it is less dense it will float.
3.they have the same volume since the cans are the same size. but the mass of coke is greater than the mass of diet coke.
4.there is sugar and caffenine in regular coke and none is in diet coke.
1. I think the Coke and Diet Coke will both sink.
2. If the object's density is less than the water's density than it will float. If the object's density is greater than the water's density than it will sink.
3.The mass, because the can's have the same volume.I know because they are both the same size.
4. Coke has a lot more sugar in it than Diet Coke has.
1. I predict that the can of coke will sink, and the diet coke will float
2. some things float because they are less dense than the water and some things sink because they are denser than water
3.the volume was the same, so it must have been the mass
4.the coke would have more weight because of all the suggar in it
1. I predict that the can of coke will float
I predict that the can of diet coke will sink.
2. object float because if the density is less than 1 then it will float
3. Mass because they both have the same volume
4. Diet coke has no cafene. and coke does
1. I think that the Coke will notfloat and the Diet Coke will float.
2. Some objects float because some object are less dense than water and then they will float. Like if it is 1.0 it will sink but if it is less than 1.0 it will float.
3. I think that the mass because they could have different weighs.
4. Because it has more sugar and more caffine.
1)I predict the Coke will sink and the Diet Coke will float.
2) Some float because they're less dense then water and some things sink because they are more dense then water.
3)I think mass caused the different densities because, they've got the same amount of liquid and they're the same size and everything.
4)The diet Coke has less suger since it's diet and the Coke has more suger.
1. Prediction- I think coke will sink, and Diet Coke will float
2. Objects float because the have a smaller density than the liquid it's in, objects sink if they have a greater density than the Liquid
3. they have the same Volume, thy look exactly the same, have the same shape, same amount of liquid, i think it's the mass that changes because diet coke has less sugar, so maybe the mass is lighter because of it
4. coke has more sugar than diet coke and a greater density
1. I think that the coke will float and the diet coke will sink
2. Because the density of the object is less than the density of the water so it rises but if the water has less density then the object will sink
3. The coke has a higher mass because if you have a high mass and divide by the volume you will have a higher density then if you had a low mass
4. Coke is made of more sugar than diet coke is so that would make the mass higher therefore making the density higher.
1. Both will float because there is air in the can, aluminum floats.
2. Because most objects have more or less density (m/v0).
3. Mass, because the volume is the same for the two.
4. Because there is more sugar in the Diet Coke.
1. I jen Pomrenke will predict that the regular red can of coke will sink...........and i jen will predict that the diet coke will float but that is just a guess.
2. i jen pomrenke will state that some objects float and some sink because of their densitites like if it is over 1.0 it will sink if it less than 1.0 it shall float.
3. i jen the fantastic scientist will say that the thing that caused different densities is mass because they both have the same volume but have different contenets inside of the can.
4.Regular coke has more mass because diet coke is taking some of the stuff out so it is kinda of a lighter pop. Like the sugar is probably less.
Sincercly the phonemonal scienctisst (who always uses common sense)
Jen Pomrenke
1. The can will sink the aquarium filled with water. Diet coke will float.
2. Some objects float because they have a less density than the water and sometimes it sinks cause it is more dense than the water.
3. The mass cause the cans are the same size and we dont know the mass yet so im going with mass.
4. Becuase the can of coke has more sugar cause it has more things in it cause diet coke is less sugar in it or calories and the coke has more of other stuff in it that the diet coke doesnt have that much.
1.I predict that the coke will sink and diet coke will float.
2.because diet coke is less denisty then coke.
3.mass because they both are the same as volume.
4.diet coke as no caffen then coke.
1. I predict both will sink to the bottom because the coke and diet coke are made of more things and make it more dense than the water so it will sink.
2. It objects have more dense than other things and if they are more dense it will sink if it isn't as dense then it will float.
3. the mass because the volume is the same for both because they are same makeup in every way except for the pop, therefor diet coke doesnt have as much things in it such as caffein like regular coke.
4. The coke has more mass because the diet coke has less things in it than the regular coke. So therefor the diet coke has less of caffein sodium and ect.
3.Tere mass because they are the same can so they have the same volume.
4.there is more sugar and cafen and other ingresins so it as more mass.
1. the coke will sink and the diet coke will sink
2. mor density then it sinks.
3. mass. The volume is the same because they are both the same length X width X height.
4. Diet coke has more carbonation and thats why it floated. The regular coke has more sugar than diet coke so it sunk. I think sugar would sink.
1) i predict that both will sink because of there density
2) they float or sink because of there density
3) mass is different because of ther stuff it is made of
4)coke has more mass because of the sugar and othere
i think the can of coke is going to sink and the diet coke will float i think because of what the ingredentsare inside of them have and i say that the mass in regular coke caused it to sink and the other had hardly any and it got to float. becausse one has less sugar and the other has less and it depends which has more of something.
1. I think that the can of Coke will sink and the Diet Coke will float.
2. My hypotheses, will be that the Diet Coke is less dense than the regular Coke so the regular Coke will sink and the Diet Coke float.
Some objects float because it has to do with there mass and volume. It will sink because of the density is more than one.
3. I know because of all the caffine and sugar is all that is in the regular can.
4.Because it has more stuff in it and it has more caffine and has more mass so therefor it has a greater density.
1. I predict that the coke will sink in the aquarium filled with water.
I predict that the diet coke will float in the filled aquarium.
2. Objets float by how light they are and by there density and the item is and if it sinks thats how much more the density is.
3. Mass becasue wahtever can is heavier it will sink and the can that is lighter will have a lighter mass.
I know becasue diet coke has no
caffine.
4. A can of coke can have more mass by caffiene and sugar. Then a can of diet coke has no caffine and has a lighter density.
1. I predictthat the can of Coke will sink and the Diet Coke will float
2. Some objects have higher densities and some have lower densities. If it's density is higher then 1, it will sink. Less then 1 and it will float.
3. I think that the mass caused the two cans to have different densities. Because they both had the same volume.
4. Because regular Coke has more sugar and more stuff in it.
1. I predict that the can of Coke will sink and the Diet Coke will float.
2. The density of one object is different than the density of the other so one will sink and the other will float.
3. Mass because Coke has more sugar than Diet Coke. The nutrition information.
4. The amount of sugar makes the can of Coke denser than the Diet Coke. the can of Coke has syrup in it and it is denser than water.
1.i predict that the regular coke will sink and the diet will float. 2.because the regular coke is more dense. but the diet is less dense than the water..i'm not sure why though.
3.They are both the same exact volume because they are the same size and shape and take up the same about of space but they are made up of different things so their masses are different.
4.because the deit coke does not have as much sugars and fatning ingredients as the reguar coke does so the makes if weigh more and that means that the particles must be more tightly packed into the regualar coke.
1. I think coke will sink, I think it's more vitiman inriched, with more heavy minerals.
2. If it's density is greater than water, it sinks.
3. It couldn't have been volume, because they are in equal size containers. They must have differnt masses, because there is no other way the coke could have been more dense.
4. Well, a can of coke contains more heavy syrup, and therefore, the can of coke naturally sinks because the diet coke has no unhealthy syrup. So that would mean that the diet coke has a more watery thin make-up.
I think the can of coke will sink because of all the sugar that is in there (more dense)and the diet coke will float because it won't have as much sugar.
When an object is more dense it will sink... I think?
1. I think that the Coke will not float. I think the Diet Coke will float.
2. Objects float or sink depending on their density. Water has a density of 1. So, if something has a density more than one, it will sink. If it has less, it will float.
3. The Diet Coke has less sodium and less mass because it is not filled with as much sugars and other unhealthy substances as regular Coke. I know because the word diet kind of means it is not exactly healthy but not as horrible for you than regular coke.
4. I answered that on number three...
Okay thanks!
1.I predict that the can of coke will sink
I predict that the can of diet coke will float
2. The objects that float are less dense then the air wich is 1 if its more then it will sink if its less it wil float.
3. I think its the mass because they are made of different ingredients.
4. Becuase they are made of different ingredients.
1)I think that the Coke will sink and the Diet Coke will float.
2)Object float if their density is less than that of the liquid that it is put into. ex. diet coke in water.
3)Mass. I know this because the volume is the same because the cans were both made by the same company.
4)A can of Diet Coke would float because it has less syrup and sugars in it, making it weigh less, while a regular can of Coke has all the extra syrup and sugars in it, making it weigh more.
1. I think the can of coke will sink in the aquarium filled with water and the diet coke will float.
2.Objects float and sink by the density of their structure.
3.The mass because of the less suger in the diet coke from the coke.
4.Cause of the more sugars, carbantion, and syrup.
1)I predict that the diet coke will float and the coke will sink.
2) Some objects float because there density is less than water or the liquid the object is in. Some sink because the density is greater than the liquid it is in.
3) The mass is what caused them to be different. I know this because the volume is the same because they were made by the same company.
4)The masses are different because the things in them are different. The coke has more sugar and syrup and the diet coke has less of all of those things.
3. The mass, mass measures wieght and volume measures size(how much space an object takes up.) Since the cans are both the same size and take up the same amount of space it has something to do with thier mass.
1. I think Diet Coke will float and the Coke will sink.
2. I think the Diet Coke is less dense than the water and the Coke is more dense than the water because of the sugars.
3. Mass, because they both take up the same amount of space which is volume so that means the mass has to be different. Diet Coke has less sugars then the regular Coke there for the Coke had a larger mass number and was more dense.
Christa!(:
1.Coke will sink because it has more density.
2.Diet coke will sink because it has less density.
3.The volume caused it because they have the same cans and the weight for mass, so the volume is inside(ingrediants)So the Volume causedd it.
4.The amounts of surgar or caffine in them.
I think the can of coke will sink, and the can of Diet Coke will float.
Some obejects float and some sink because some objects are less dense than others.
I think the MASS had an impact because there volums look the same so their weight has to be different.
The can of Diet cook doesn't have as much sugar as a can of regular Coke has, and therefore that sugar weighs down the regular can of Coke.
1. I think that both of the cans of coke (both diet and regular) will float.
2. The obects that float, float because they are less dense than the liquid they are places in. They will sink because they are more dense than the liquid that they are in.
3. The mass caused the deit coke to be less dense. I know this because they have the same volume. They are in they same type of can so their volume must be the same.
4. It must have to do with the chemicals that are in the diet coke. Because it is diet, it doesnt have all of the sugar and suryps and stuff that is in regular coke that weighs it down.
1. I predict that the coca-cola will sink and I predict that the diet coke with float.
2. Objects with less density than the water or whatever it is put into will float. Objects with more density than the water or whatever it is put into will sink.
3.The mass because they were the same size cans and contained the same amount of liquid.
4.The diet coke has less of the ingredients, like sugar, than the regular coke.
1.
~ I predict the Diet Coke will float.
~ and i also predict the Coke will sink.
2.
~ some objects sink because, they're more dense than water. but someother objects float because they're less dense then water.
3.
~ because coke may have more sugar (mass) than the diet coke will have.
4.
~ sugar, duh. because the 'diet' in diet coke is basically saying it hs less sugar or cholestroal.
1. I think the can of coke will sink and i predict that the diet coke will sink.
2. The objects float because they have less density than water or any other substance they are in and other objects sink because they have a greater density than water or the substance that they are in.
3. Their volume is the same because there is the same amount of liquid in the same amount of space, so i think the mass changes the density between the two.
4. It would have more mass because it has a lot of sugar in it unlike the diet coke which has no sugar in it, so that is what caused the coke to sink and the diet coke to float.
1.I think coke will sink and diet coke will float.
2.When an objects mass is 1g or more it will sink. If an objects mass is less than 1g it will float.
3.Mass..because since both cans were the same size..they take up the same space. Volume is the amount of space it takes up!
4.They're made of different components! one is diet and the other isnt. so..something in the coke isnt in the diet coke, which makes the coke sink.
?'s 3 and 4 : Mass caused the cans to have differnt densities beacause the Diet Coke had less mass than Coke than had ( beacause its diet it has a lower mass making it sink)
_SHelBy :D >>Peace Out
1.) I beleive that neither of the cans of pop will float.
2.) Some float and some sink because it depends on if their density is greater than the liquid it is going into.
3.) It is mass that caused the diet coke to float. I know this because they have the same volume. The two pops are from the same can.
4.) Because the Diet Coke has light substances because it is DIET. The coke is made of more sugars and cafeene wich makes it more heavy.
1. I predict the can of Coke will sink, and the Diet Coke will float.
2. Some objects float and some objects sink because of their mass. I think the Coke would sink because the more sugar in the can will take up more mass, and the opposite with Diet Coke (floats).
3. I think it's mass which makes a greater density in the can of Coke.
4. The Coke has more mass because of the added sugar, whereas the Diet Coke doesn't have as much sugar.
1.) I believe that the can of Coke will sink, while the Diet
Coke will float.
2.) Density decides what sinks and what floats. If it has a higher density than water it will sink, if it has a lower denisty it will rise.
3.) Even though they may both have the same volume, the Diet Coke had a different mass. They both have the same amount of liquid in them, but the amount of actual matter was different, giving them different masses.
4.) What does Coke have that Diet Coke doesn't? Diet Coke has less sugar--less matter. It may still have the same amount of liquid, it just doesn't have as much matter.
4. Coke would have more mass than Diet Coke because of what it's made of. Coke probablly has a lot more sugar than Diet Coke.
1. I predict the can of Coke will sink and the can of Diet Coke will float.
2. Since pop contains sugar, regular Coke will contain the most sugar (more density) and Diet Coke contains less (smaller amount of density).
3. Mass, becasue of the sugar amount. The volumme (since both cans are of same size) should be the same for each can.
4. Coke has more mass and Diet Coke has less mass because of the liquids' sugar amount.
3. they have different chemicals
4. coke has more sugar than diet
Hey crazy 8s! In case any of you thought this was a really useless experiment, I'd like to tell you that I am a Freshman(9th Grade) at Roosevelt taking an Accelerated Chemistry class with a bunch of Juniors(11th) and Seniors(12th) and we did this very same experiment this year in our own class. This is actually important, and you do use it later in life!
