The alcohol will boil and turn into a gas then go out the hole and get cool and turn back into alcohol
I think that after the gas tries to go up, it will go back down and go through the skinny tube, out the hole.
The alchol and water have 2 diff boiling points so one will boil before the other and evaporate in the condensing tube and then condensate cause there is a ice pack around the tube
The fire will boil the ethyl alcohol to a certain temperature that it will turn into a gas and rise. Once it rises it will go through a little hole and into a tube. Once it goes into the tube the ice pack will cool it down to where it will become a liquid again.
the alcohol will evaporate and with will rise to the top. it will fill up to the top and fill up until the gas reaches the top of the hole. it will then go through the pipe then cool down in the test tube.
when the mixture starts to get warmer it will boil and the alcohol will boil then after there's to much at the top it will go out the tube at the side then the ice pack will cool it back to a liquid.
In the distillation lab we are going to disillate water and ethyl alcohol. When it starts to evaporate it moves into the condensing tube where the change in temperature makes the gas condense back into a liquid. All the while a thermometer is measuring the temperature of the water.
How it works, is there is the mixture of the alcohol and water in a tube, and a thermometer with a rubber attachment so that when the alcohol evaporates, it wont go out the top, but out the condensing tube. When the alcohol as a gas reaches the freeze pack, it condensates and turns back into a liquid and it is just it liquid self again so it starts on fire. This shows the distillation process.
The fire will start boil the alcohol and the gas will try to get out the top but it wont be able to since it's blocked by the rubber stopper so it will slowly go through the little tube on the side.
The ethyl alcohol will boil and the it will go up and and will go through the tube. It will then end up in the test tube as a liquid because of the cold ice pack on it. The water started boiling and then the water put out the fire.
With the water and the alcohol it is a mixture and if you boil it, the water will evaporate while the alcohol doesn't.
So you can separate them with out chemical means
The rubbing alcohol evaporates into the condensing tube. Then when it is in the tube it gets cooled from being a gas into a liquid. So then the the rubbing alcohol had started on fire because of the gas. That was because the heat was at the rubbing alcohols boiling temp. causing it to become a gas.
The rubbing alcohol evaporates and rises, then it goes through the condensation tube. The rubbing alcohol then gets cooled back down and turns back into a liquid. Then the alcohol gets started on fire again by the gas to prove it is the flammable rubbing alcohol that was evaporated.
i think that the rubbing alcahal will evaperate and when it gets to the small holder with the ice pack it wil go back to rubbing alcahol
You add water and rubbing alcohol in a beaker. You use a thermometer to test the temperature it gets up to. One you boil the rubbing alcohol it evaporates and then condenses. you had the water in one beaker and the rubbing alcohol in the condensing tube.
the ethal achohal will evaoerate and it will be just water. then the ethal achahol will turn to gas then it will get cold enough to turn back to a liquid.
well when you put the water in the little tube and u turn on the gas it reacats. when you put water on something it reacts with fire.so now we know how it reacts.
the alcohol boils out of the water and is forced out of a tube. it is then cooled back to a liquid.
the achol will turn into a gas turn into a gas a meet resetince and the top and start filling up the tube and go through the side to a beaker and the cold will make it go back into a liquid
when it heats up, it will boil, and evaporate. then it will go out the condensing tube as fire.
using heat, it takes the alcohol and that goes into a gas since it boils first, trap it and change it into a liquid, and then we are gonna burn it
when it starts boiling it will go through the tube and then we'll test it to see if it was flammable. :)
When the mixture of water and alcohol reach their boiling point, the heat will try to escape out of the top. But because the top is blocked by a rubber stopper, the heat will have to escape through a small tube on the side. Once that is done the ice pack will bring the alcohol back to liquid form and we will have captured and separated the 2 liquids.
When you mix alchohol and water; to separate them from each other u need to boil the liquid up to 78.5 C and then the alchohol with be separated from the water as a gas. but then u put a ice pack over the alchohol to freeze it back into a liquid instead of a gas. but then if you want to get rid of the water u will need to boil it to 100 C.
the rubbing alcohol will evaporate then the gas will leave out threw they tube then when it will condense when it goes threw the tube with the ice pack on it then the water will evaporate and take the same process
It is starting to boil a little. The water is turning into a liquid, but once to goes into the other tube, it turns back into liquid. Now Mr. Hoegh started a fire...nice shocked face btw.
The ethanol with rise up first and go into the tube, and the ice pack will turn it into a liquid again, and hopefully be flamible. It worked, the substance coming out was flamible.
the rubbing alcohol is going to go to the smaller tube and the water is going into the bigger tube
The rubbing alcohol is going to go in to the smaller tube when it is heated and separate it's self from the water.
the alchol will turn into a gas. the alchol was flamable and it got shot out because there was an open port
The alcohol turned in to a gas at 78.5 degrees celcius and then it was forced out the small tube, and with the help of a match, we made fire. (: Since the water had a higher boiling point, it stayed a liquid.
its start to bubble, its going to go to up and though the tub and go back the it liquid.
It started off as just a liquid and then evaporated and became a liquid again but this time it was just the rubbing alcohol.
