A day depends on what part of the earth is facing the sun, because it spins or rotates. If you are facing the sun it is day and if you are not facing the sun it is night. A whole day is 24 hours and that is how it takes for the earth to take one full turn. A month is when the moon makes a full spin around the earth, like ring around the rosy. A year is when the earth goes around the sun once to make a full revolution or spin. It earth is always moving around the sun and it takes 365 for a full spin to happen.
